And here I am again with another cant-live-without: Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer. While I find I dont love her foundations, Im firmly in adore with this.
In 14 shades and two options (concealer solo or in a double-decker pot with powder), Id opt for the solo job next time as I just dont use the accompanying powder at all, so as far as Im concerned, its a waste of product and money. Where it has advantages is if you have superb skin and only need a slight whack of concealer for blemishes. Set them with the accompanying powder and off you go. Me? I wait till foundation is on before setting the lot.
So, what do I love about this? The packaging is sleek and nice, but thats incidental to product performance. There are two things I love about it.

You know what Im talking about. That type of day where everything you try on makes you look/feel like a cow. That day where your body is suddenly full of every possible imperfection. That day where your hair refuses to do anything that you want it to. That day where you spend an hour trying to find an outfit in your bursting closet only to wear the exact same thing you wore last week.
Ladies, Ive been there. And I think its safe to say that every female has experienced this at least once in their life, if not once a week. Not matter how beautiful or self-confident we are, there will always be days when we feel like sh*t. There will always be days when we are way too hard on ourselves for the minor amount of belly fat we gained over the past few months. There will always be days where we cant stand what we see when we look in the mirror. And even when we just recently spent a lot of money on new clothes, there will still be days where we feel like we have nothing to wear. It happens. To everyone. Men and women.
On these types of days, it can be really hard to be kind to yourself. But that is the key to making it through. Maybe, instead of trying to come up with something amazing to wear that day, you should throw on a standby that you know and love, like your favorite jersey dress, or those jeans that fit you just right. Maybe, instead of punishing yourself for a few pounds gained with a three hour spin session at the gym, you should go for soothing walk somewhere that helps you feel calm and clear your head. Maybe, instead of throwing away all your clothes in frustration, you should consider what in your closet needs alterations, what items simply dont work, and what items you really need to make you feel good in your skin. Maybe, instead of trying to force your body into all the latest trends, you should focus on buying clothes in fabrics and cuts that make you feel good while wearing them.
Because nothing is more important than feeling good in your own skin. No matter what size you are, no matter where your lumps and bumps reside, if you feel good in what youre wearing and who you are, you will project beauty. But if youre feeling crappy about yourself, then no matter how much physical beauty you have, no matter if you are a size 18 or a size 2 or anything larger, smaller or in-between, you wont appear as beautiful. Beauty is much more about a feeling of confidence and self-worth than it is about size, or hair color, or skin texture or anything else physical. To feel good in ones own skin is beauty. And some days its not easy to feel that way. And thats okay. Life is a learning process. There will be up days and there will be down days. We just have to learn to make it through the down ones, and savor and relish in the good ones.

Blemishes start when the sebaceous glands produce too much oil. Sebaceous glands attach to the skins hair follicles like little sponges. Normally the cells lining the hair follicle slough off regularly and the oil passes to the surface of the skin. But when this fails to happen, a pore becomes plugged, causing irritation.
Combining exfoliating and blemish-controlling agents with oil-controlling and anti-irritation agents, this multi-functional system helps to unclog pores, minimize excess oil, calm and soothe irritated skin and reduce the appearance of redness. It also helps prevent the conditions that can lead to breakouts while helping to control excess oil.

I think, the movie is good. Not too bad. Reason why is because I didnt anticipate much on the outcome but rather anticipated a rather ok or good movie. I did not read the or watch the anime version of it so I rather not comment further. But basically, I like the fighting scenes lah. I actually do like it until I see a lot of censorship. Which, pretty much killed the whole anticipating of watching a good movie. So yeah
In my own personal point of view. When you rate 18SG. You freaking NOT CENSOR it. Why? you stupid censorship board is undermining our age is it? Why even rate 18SG when you cant think logically that those who are watching this movie is going to be a mature crowd.
The whole gist of this movie and why people watch it is because of the sword fighting scene. People like me watch this because of the body chopping scene! When you censor it, it is more or less like cheating our money and I feel that we as cinema goers should ask for refund then. Because, what I am paying is for a full movie, but you people in the you know where you are have to come up with some rather nonsensical ruling of censoring certain parts of the movie.
Pardon me, but HOW STEWPID lah!
I wouldnt blame Columbia Pictures or the director and what not lah because my sentiment is not towards this movie BLOOD: The Last Vampire, but other movies as well lah. I feel the makers for this movie has done a great job.
That is why when these kinda censorship happens, we go all out to buy pirated DVDs to watch. Myself, I rather just wait another month and download it off Torrent rather than contributing to Malaysian economy which doesnt even justify the purpose and final outcome.
Oh wells, you can watch the trailer here embedded from YouTube.

In every AIESEC International Congress 2009 meeting, we have this part of it called social life updates.
It is because that everyone is coming together to work on this congress for the first time. We dont really know each of our background much and this part of the meeting is for us to get to know each other better. Sort of life, instead of me asking What have you been doing? to each and everyone all over again we know the answer already.
Just yesterday, Ive attended a talk by Dato Idris Jala, the MD/CEO of Malaysia Airlines. One of the questions asked during the QA session was about balancing work and personal life. He said that those who said that they have no time for social life or what not are bullshitters.
I agree. I mean, the definition of social life is very broad. It is up to an individual to decide what it is their social life is. If they feel that not going out for yum cha for a very long time means no life, so be it.
Then, I look at myself and I began to think. Work has been really catching up on me. Ive made a realignment to focus on the more important things in life to me. Not to say that Im neglecting what Ive been enjoying for the past few months, but priorities was needed to be set.
To me, my social life has been a mixture of online and offline approach. I either chat up with friends online or catch up offline when we meet up or over the phone. I have pretty much cut my online time a lot since 1 week ago as I know I have this bad habit of not getting work done when Im online reading blogs and chatting and what not. Yes, it doesnt consume much of my time, but still discipline needs to take place.
But then again, one tool that I find it useful is emails. It is the best way to get message across and sometimes, I do admit that it takes me a long time to reply emails. I do read them, but replying takes time until a time when I track back my emails and find myself saying Oh, ! Havent reply you. Hehe. Such bad habit. I know.

Anyone who reads this blog regularly will know I'm a huge fan of Sisley. They're one of the few remaining independent beauty companies and they don't compromise with ingredients, either. They chuck whatever needs to go into a product to make it work and this inevitably means the price of their beauty care is high. And I mean, really high. But their latest product, Supremya, might shake the most arden fan, as it comes in at 435. Eek. That's like a pair of Dior shoes, a Mulberry handbag or at a push, a mini-break! But, Sisley is aimed primarily at those who don't think twice about spending on premium skin care. I'm sure it's going to invite a whole rack of controvercy in features in the press - is it or isn't it worth it, kind of thing. The night cream has it's own patented complex - Phyto-complex LC12 - that extends the skin cell's lifetime and stimulates their capacity to repair themselves, so it's destined to be a front runner in the battle against anti-ageing. It's my expectation that this cream will be amazing - I've been promised some to try - so I'm looking forward to reviewing it, but will it give such fantastic results that I'd give up a mini-break? Only time will tell! It launches in Harrods on 2nd August and then nationwide on 1st September.

I really enjoy writing reviews. I like to think that I am helping others to decide if 'something' is a good deal, or not a good deal. I appreciate the members who warn me of scams, and I like to make certain that I write about scams, as well, when I find I have been cheated. Honesty is easy while writing reviews, and it is wonderful for me to see so many people who do write on this ReviewStream.com. I know it is well read, as I have customers in my store who refer to it. People trust other people's experiences with products, when making their choices. I appreciate that reviews do not all have to be reviews that rave about how wonderful the product is! All products were not created equally. I intend to continue writing and I hope that all of you do the same. No experience necessary......just write how a product worked for you! WE all want to know. This is a wonderful way to help one another, don't you think? I do! ( Gladys a.k.a.

Exciting, Vibrant, Dynamic, Artist, are just a few of the words that anyone who has ever met or seen John Gillette would use to describe his personality and the aura he projects on-stage. In actuality, words like these only begin to scratch the surface of how unique this natural-born entertainer really is and how much talent and ability he exudes with each well-delivered note he sings, or each isolated dance move he executes. The reason John makes his performances look effortless is because his journey to develop into the exciting entertainer he is today started almost as soon as he could walk.
John Gillette was born on a U.S. Air Force base in Bitburg, Germany. At the age of three, John's family moved back to the States to a small town in Michigan and then subsequently to Montgomery, Alabama where John spent most of his childhood years. Even at a young age, John's family realized that he displayed an extroverted personality and embraced attention. He loved to spend hours making up his own dance routines and performances, and performing them for his parents, family members, friends, and anyone else who would watch. However, the idea that he should pursue the dream of becoming a successful recording artist didn't materialize until after he had already made his commitment to another career choice. Upon graduating from high school a full year early, John made the decision to follow in his father's footsteps and enlisted into the United States Air Force, just shy of his 17th birthday. While serving his country in the military, John worked as an Aerospace Propulsion Apprentice on classified F-15 Fighter engines. It is here that John began lending his voice for military functions and was discovered by his Base Commander soon after performing the National Anthem for his squadron. John sang with enough conviction and inspiration that the same Commander requested him to sing at all base functions permanently, which he continued to do for the remaining two and a half years of his enlistment until he was given an honorary discharge.
Inspired by his love of music and bolstered by the experience he gained while performing in the military, John decided to move to North Hollywood, California to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Having already become an accomplished dancer, he immediately started teaching hip-hop dance classes at a dance studio in order to earn a living while simultaneously improving his choreography skills. It was at this time that he became friends with some of the most talented and renowned choreographers; such as Wade Robson, Shane Sparks and Stephen Twitcha Boss. It was through the inspiration and cooperative work with these men that John was able to quickly make a name for himself on the dance scene.
While John was performing and traveling in New York City, an opportunity presented itself in the form of a chance meeting with Say-More Productions; a production team who has worked with some of the industry's hottest artists including Aaliyah and Mary J. Blige among others.
From the moment Say-More Productions worked with John, they knew that his attention to detail, inexhaustible work ethic, and magnetic personality would help him rise to the top of the music industry. What was even more impressive was the fact that John seemed to be a relentless learner who was committed to learning, growing and improving everyday as a recording artist and songwriter, even as he continued to gain even greater recognition for his choreography and showmanship.
As a result, John's passion for singing and dancing has already opened many doors to a host of exciting opportunities. His resume is extensive and carries highlights that include dancing for the US Olympics, as well as at major PR events for global corporations like Honda, IBM and JCPenney. He has choreographed and danced Off-Broadway and opened for recording artist DJ Unk. Currently, John teaches dance across the country, and is considered an expert who is constantly invited to judge dance competitions nationwide.
Additionally, John dances and choreographs for the NBA Denver Nuggets Cheerleading Squad and has also formally choreographed for the NFL pro-football cheerleading squad, The New Orleans Saintsations.
To-date, John is singing, dancing, and writing songs that will appear on his debut album. Most recently, he has been given the opportunity to work with the famed production/artist duo of Midi Mafia, notorious for working with acts such as 50 Cent, David Archuleta, Lloyd Banks, Brandy, Nelly, G-Unit, and Angie Martinez and several others. John is very excited about the tracks he has recorded with Midi-Mafia and expects them to be a part of his debut album. As his star continues to rise and grow brighter, look for John Gillette to become a household name in the very near future.
Peachy Deegan interviewed John Gillette for Whom You Know.
Peachy Deegan:What is your first musical memory?
John Gillette: The movie "Breakin"
What was it like growing up in a military family?
It was good. I didn't mind anything from it. I only moved from my location once. It
wasn't like we were constantly moving and i was always losing friends. My father was closing his career, so it went well. I learned alot of great things about professionalism from being a military kid.
What are your favorite kinds of aircraft and why?
I'm biased to F-15 E models because i worked on them. But the F-22 Raptor is crazy man. Also, everything on the engine is quick release. I can't begin to tell
you how nice that is.
How were you picked to sing the national anthem?
I was working on an engine on the flight line and i was singing a maxwell song when my superior heard me and asked me to sing at the promotion ceremony. From there me and my partner became the talk of the base and soon we were singing for the commander all the time.
Do you like entertaining or flying better?
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE entertaining! It's what I was put here for!
What are you proudest of?
This isn't a fair question. I'm proud of a lot of things and it would seriously depend on which aspect of my life you were referring to.
Do you like singing, dancing or choreographing better and why?
That's a hard one too. I like them all equally, but even more so.. i like to
produce! I like to be the guy that puts it all together and then also performs it. Musically, and choreograpy!
What is the most difficult aspect of choreographing?
For me it would be blocking and transitioning. Choreo itself is a no-brainer.
What are your future goals?
Just to be remembered and to make a difference.
What is your favorite place to be in NYC?
Mid Town I'd love to be on Broadway one day ! !
What is your favorite shop?
Urban Outfitters
What is your favorite drink?
Always Coca Cola
What is your favorite restaurant?
Budda Bar, California Pizza Kitchen
What is your favorite NYC book?
There's a book in Urban that is all about graffitti...not sure if it's from the ny...but it's dope!
What is your favorite thing to do in NYC that you can do nowhere else?
Debate lyrics with my producer "lyrickal". I don't take much time to do things in NY. I work hard. I'm addicted to working, so now and then we just wild out and debate whose a stronger lyricist between iconic artists...hahaha.
What do you think is most underrated and overrated here?
Pizza is SUPER OVERRATED IN NY!! people also never see how hard people in ny work just to make a dollar. The drive of a new yorker is underrated!
What else should Whom You Know readers know about you?
I'm just a guy from Montgomery, AL who is trying to leave his mark on history using
the blessings that were given to him. Nothing more, nothing less.
How would you like to be contacted by Whom You Know readers?
I would love to hear from any reader!!! email me at

Toss-it time: Acne creams and other over-the-counter products that contain drugs are FDA regulated and usually carry expiration dates. But cosmeceuticals (products claiming to have anti-aging and skin-changing benefits) are not regulated, and once theyve been used, they shouldnt be kept for more than six months or, if theyre in pump bottles, a year says Wilson.
Insider info: Some ingredients [such as vitamin C, retinol, and hydroquinone] degrade even more rapidly if theyre left in direct sunlight or exposed to air, says Tina Alster, M.D., a Washington, D.C., dermatologist. Less frequently but more alarmingly certain products can actually become more potent over time, says Boston dermatologist Ranella Hirsch, M.D. The reason: Active ingredients like retinol and glycolic acid become more concentrated as their bases degrade, separate, or evaporate. And when proportions change, your skin may get irritated. To prevent problems, store cosmetics properly, discontinue use after six months, and look for products that come in a pump, which helps keep air out. Another option thats starting to hit shelves: special jars that dispense creams through a tiny hole or slit when you press the top (an internal rises with each push).

The creator of this and many other Lancôme mascaras, Jean-Louis Guéret has spoken about the great things that this mascara does. He says, This mascara is like no other. After years of research, I have come to the conclusion that the application of the formula around the lashes in a non-random, ordered way, charging the lashes homogenously, declares a new era in lash make-up, explains Jean-Louis Guéret, designer of all the Lancôme mascara brushes. With oscillatory movement, the make-up result is truly unique.
At the push of a button, the vibration is activated and Ôscillation responds to all needs by extending, separating and multiplying lashes. Place the brush at the root of the lash and smooth it towards the tip, all the while maintaining pressure on the button. This simple technique ensures lashes have a pure finish with absolutely no trace of clumping.
Well this was all the gyan that another technology called internet gave me.
Now these are the things I saw from a sneak peak with Lancômes Head makeup artist for India, Stafford Braganza. Stafford had this one piece that he got all the way from Paris and I was lucky and glorified enough to have a look for previewing at Shopper stop Juhu. Shamelessly (I dunno if thats the appropriate word) and I tried it on (have you seen boys flaunting mascaras) as it was too tempting.
You dont have to wiggle and just comb straight from the roots to the lash tips to coat them from upper as well as lower surface. The formula is not goopy and not very liquidy as well. Its a little on the rubbery side but quite good. Just one coat from the top as well as the bottom made my right side lashes big and glossy and it really didnt clump. Mascara like this would only clump if someone behaves a little greedy and coats their lashes with like 3-50 coats. This mascara did volumize and curl my lashes and I cannot comment on lengthening as my lashes are already long but not poker straight. The comb looks very much like a hybrid in between Fatale and Chanels Inimitable but is easy and user friendly.
The mascara is really very easy to remove and with some effort using their legendary Bifacil remover I could remove it quickly and effortlessly not disturbing my composure and not having a black eye.
MY VERDICT: -
Do have a look at it. Im sure this mascara wont fail to impress you. LANCÔME OSCILLATION MASCARA WOULD BE LAUNCHING IN MID JANUARY 2009 AT NATIONWIDE COUNTERS OF LANCÔME AND LANCÔME BOUTIQUES.

Various types of skin cancer can be found. Since skin cancer is the most common form of cancer found in the country, it is critical that people learn as much as they can about it. One of the most important factors is that this type of cancer is preventable in many cases. That is because most is caused by the sun, though there are other causes. The suns rays are in particular the problem. Here, we will talk about three particular cancers of the skin.
#1: Melanoma Cancer
Although this form of skin cancer is the least common form of cancer when compared to other forms, it is one of the worst. The cancer begins in the skins cells at the melanocytes. The biggest problem with this type of cancer is just how serious it can be. That is because it is able to spread to the other organs of the body very quickly. This can lead to various forms of cancer throughout the body, including in the bodys organs and bones. It is thought to be caused by over exposure to the suns rays as well as genetics.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Another complicates and most of the time less common form of cancer is squamous cell carcinoma. It can also move to other parts of the body. It is able to enter the bloodstream to travel throughout the body. Some 250,000 people are diagnosed around the world with this particular type of skin cancer, based on studies as well as medical record keeping. Those who are most susceptible to the condition are individuals who have a light or fair complexion. Squamous cell carcinoma originates on the outermost layer of the skin and then moves into the body from there. Scaly patches are the first sign, and they often do not heal well, or at all.
#3: Basal Cell Carcinoma Cancer
The third form of skin cancer is basal cell carcinoma. It is the most common form found but it is also the least likely to cause long term illness or to be fatal. The reason for that is because basal cell carcinoma is a very localized, centralized type of cancer. Treatment for this type of condition can be very effective. This type of skin cancer is found most commonly on the neck and the face, but it can be found in other areas as well. There are various types of symptoms that are commonly found with this form of cancer. For example, you may have yellow or pink sores that are located in the affected areas. Some of these may have a hint of blood in them. In addition to this, many people have what looks like a scar with yellow and white coloring. As long as the cancer is caught in time, it is highly treatable and it is unlikely to spread like other forms.
All forms of skin cancer are life threatening. It is important for individuals to learn to spot any change in their skin, which could be a sign of the cancer formation. Keep in mind that this may mean skin markings changing including moles. If you notice any of these, do take the time to get a doctors opinion of the condition.

I use bronzer daily. You probably wouldn't even notice that I'm wearing it because I use it on my neck, rarely on my face. Since your neck is typically shielded and sees little sun, it's probably more fair than your face making for a shade discrepancy between the two. Just a little bronzer on the neck can deepen it to the same shade as your face for a more natural, even look.
Warn on the face, bronzer can add warmth and a healthy glow if you know where to place it. Sweep it down the bridge of the nose, along the top of the forehead, and around the frame of the face for the most natural look. Remember it's a bronzer, not a blush- save the cheeks for a bolder flash of color, maybe a pink tone to stand out against the warmth of the bronzer.
Soleil Tan De Chanel is just the bronzer for the task since it's both oil-free and hydrating meaning it looks good on all skin types, and the silky power glides on and blends seamlessly into the skin for a perfectly blended look. Choose from 4 shades depending on your skin tone, all of which look natural and wear well without smudging onto clothing or turing orangey throughout the day.
$50, 4 Shades, Chanel.com, Nordstrom, Macy's, Dillard's, Neiman Marcus, and other department stores worldwide.

I love Bobbi Brown. I really do. But when I saw the new photo to promote her new Nautical makeup Collection (right), I had to cringe. The model has been photoshopped so much that she doesnt look like a human being anymore!
I know that I have a lot of younger readers that may not know what goes on behind the very manipulated images that are spread across the media. So I decided to write a post to hopefully educate some of you, so that you would never compare yourself to another model, actress, or woman in an ad again, because Im sure weve all been there. To put it bluntly - you will never live up to the standards the media portrays as because it is simply not real. The sooner you know that the better!
This post I have written is based on my experience. Ive worked in front of the camera (dont tell) when I was younger, and behind the scenes when I was interning at a fashion magazine and plus Im a media student, so Im quite aware of what goes on. Some images are more retouched than others, so they may not exactly what Im writing, but Im sure Im pretty close; so you can get the main idea:
1. Brainstorming
The medium (TV ad, print ad, magazine cover, etc.) that needs an image brainstorms to what will properly sell and convey their brand image. This usually involves an art director, creative director, or magazine editors. Countless meetings later, the will decide what direction to go in and move forward with the preparation.

Ok, folks. I don't have anything exciting to post today... but I do need your help.
I'm switching auto/renter's insurance because Allstate is too expensive (sorry, Dennis!). I've narrowed my search down to Progressive and State Farm, but I have to make a decision quickly. State Farm is $140/year more expensive... but I know a lot of people rave about their customer service. Then again, my boss has Progressive and said they've been excellent through three big claims.
So... help! Whom do you recommend (and why).

At last a product that can be used all over the face as a blush eye shadow or liner. Apply wet or dry for a professional finish every time. The super-pigmented powders go on clearly without being chalky. The water resistant formula resists caking and creasing yet is easily removed with soap and water. A long lasting application that holds to professional standards.

Clinque Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense Moisturizer for Dry Combination skin types. It comes in a plastic tub as pictured and costs $42.50 for 1.7 oz.
Other than cleansing oil, sunscreen is a basic staple in my skincare routine. I am very paranoid about getting premature wrinkles...I definitely expect myself to be wrinkle free until at least the age of 35! That's a little over a decade away though...yikes! Gotta max out on my youth now...
Anyway, normally I wouldn't bother to review a sunscreen with SPF as low as this one unless it had some positive characteristic(s) that I would never have expected from a sunscreen. BUT, if you notice the labeling, Clinique doesn't call this product a sunscreen--it's a "moisturizer." Thus, this product probably shouldn't be used in place of your normal sunscreen, and I wouldn't consider it effective against UVA/UVB rays at all. However, if used in conjunction with your sunscreen, especially if you have dry to normal-dry skin, this product will help your skin fight pollution, toxins, and stress, since sunscreen normally doesn't have added skincare benefits in it.
My skin has been flakey and dry lately, so I have absolutely fallen in love with this moisturizer. I use it under my Clinique Derma White Super City Block SPF 40 ++ sunscreen, and over any serums I may apply that day. The Derma White Super City Block is matte, so it has a drying effect on my skin and any flakey patches are emphasized. The Superdefense Moisturizer helps to soothe and reduce that, without making my face oily or greasy. I don't like wearing too many layers of product on my face, especially during the day, so I don't know how foundation would stay on top of a Superdefense + Sunscreen combination--unless you have drier skin, you should probably stay away from that. The Superdefense moisturizer has a texture between a lotion and a light cream, and it goes on almost like a moisture-mousse onto the skin. It feels so cooling and refreshing, and if you wait a couple minutes, the sunscreen dries to a semi-matte finish, so your skin feels hydrated, but not like an oil slick. Though I'm going through a dry skin stage right now, I will continue to use this on my cheeks and eyes during the summer simply because it feels so nice and hydrating, yet light.
The only thing I dislike about this product is the smell. Clinique's products are all supposed to be unscented but this smells really funky. I don't quite know how to describe it...it doesn't smell like anything else I've ever encountered.
However, I would definitely give this product a shot if you have drier skin and need help looking for a day moisturizer that is hydrating, yet not oily or greasy. I would not recommend this product to those with oily skin. Also, one word of advice: never mix your sunscreens together. If you use this, always apply your regular sunscreen as a separate layer on top, when the Clinique Superdefense has dried, or you risk lowering the potency of your regular SPF.
So, overall: this product is for you if you have drier skin and desire to layer sunscreen. But I would not use this alone; the SPF protection doesn't seem sufficient.
